About

Seventy-something mother of 3, grandmother of 5 and great-grandmother of 1 (so far.)  I like gardening, photography, writing, reading and life in general. I’m also into genealogy and scrapbooking.

I was born in London, England and moved to the USA in 1973. I still miss home but will probably never go back. Past interests included dancing, theater, fencing, painting and floral arranging.

  1. Love the picture! I wish I had the knack of gardening. Maybe someday it will click for me. Generally things die in my care (only plants, thank the Lord). What an interesting life you’ve had! I look forward to reading more!

  2. Hi Sue, thanks for stopping by my blog http://reflectionsofchina.wordpress.com/ and for the like, it is appreciated 🙂 You have some fantastic images here on your site..the floral garden shots make me miss the UK, we have no garden here in China just a balcony in our apartment. The greenery and lanscape of England is what i miss sometimes. Thanks and Regards Mark

    • Thanks, Mark! I miss the English countryside too, along with English pubs and cricket. Life must be very different in China. Your pictures are most interesting and I look forward to following your blog.

  6. Hello there, and thank you for finding my blog http://www.mummydrinkstea.com, and for becoming a follower! I love how you still think of yourself as English, despite such a long time away. I’m sure the topic of cricket will come up over the summer! The bluebells send their love across the pond!

  7. Sue – as a transplant to Florida from New England, I always yearn for spring gardens this time of year. I want to smell lilacs, force forsythia, and see tulips and iris and daffodils . . . . it’s all tradoffs, isn’t it. And thanks for stopping by.

  22. Americans gain is our loss. There is still nothing to beat England in springtime, or in Autumn. ”Seasons of mists….” I can see you still hanker for the English perrenial bourder a la Gertrude Jeychle.take your imagination to the US.
